it's been a while!

Just spoke with my Gramma and my Pom-Pom and Gramma said she had been missing my blogs! I am way behind, no? I explained to her that the internet here is a little bit shoddy, so it can be frustrating trying to blog and having to restart when the internet goes out.




Well, since I last posted, I have had quite a bit of excitement. One of the wonderful things that occurred was my good friend Amanda coming to visit. Her visit was quite brief, but a much needed break. One her first day in town, we hopped on the train to Sevilla for a little sightseeing. Sevilla is a beautiful place and I am looking forward to returning next week while my cousin Josie is in town.

The following day greeted us with beautiful weather, so we hopped on a train in the opposite direction and headed to Cadiz to put our toes in the sand. My time was limited, so we sat on the beach for a while and then had tapas for lunch at a cute little restaurant over looking the water.

I have since finished my stint at the preschool, and this has been quite a relief. A few of the teachers wound up ganging up on me in a way, and it wasn't until my last week there that some other teachers finally told me that these two women in particular like to do this kind of thing. I felt better after someone let on that I wasn't alone in disliking these women, they were really making my time at the preschool hellish!! Then I ran into a teacher who had left the school about a week after I arrived. She re-iterated to me how horrible some of the other teachers could be without me even having to prompt her into it. I am very careful about what I say and to whom I say things here, because you never know....

I will miss those cute little children so much though!

As I stated above, my cousin Josie from Florida arrives in Spain next week, actually in just three days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited (if you can't see that from all the exclamation points) for her to be here. I am in luck because she has been sightseeing like crazy in Italy and is ready for a little rest. It is absolutely beautiful where I am, but it is not the place to come to see historical sights. But lucky me, she is ready to lay by the pool and drink pina coladas. ok I made that last part up. We are definitely going to have to go to Sevilla, but it should be a relaxing week for her and yet another good break for me.

Also coming up in about a month I am meeting Daniel in London. There are not enough exclamation points to show my excitement for this trip. We are going to Berlin, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the small town where his family lives in Scotland. Also, if it is financially feasible, we will head to Ireland. I feel a little bit guilty as I know he wants to go somewhere warm and beachy, but I will be ready for a break from warm and beachy by August!! Oh well, I guess we will have to plan another vacation in the near future.
