Hello from Espana!

Hi Friends-
I am creating this little blog so that my friends and family can read about my time here and also as a way to catalog it for myself. I hope you enjoy, and I am new to blogging, so please, bear with me if my page is boring!

The Girls

Here in Spain, I am living with a host family, taking care of their three girls and teaching them English. The girls are 10, 7 and 1 years old. All three have very distinct personalities and we get along quite well.

The oldest girl has a very active imagination and loves to read. She is caring and is the most excited that I am here. She speaks English well and is not afraid to ask questions if she doesn't understand something.

The second girl is very active and funny. She likes to joke around and has a hard time sitting still. It takes her forever to eat her meals because she would rather spend the time talking and laughing.

The 2 older ones both attend private school and they leave the house at 8 am and do not return until 5 pm. They have quite a bit of homework that they must do and have to study for tests as well. I think school here is much harder than in the States.

The baby is very very cute and she also goes to school, or nursery from 9 until 3pm. She looks very chunky, but when you pick her up, she feels like she weighs nothing.

The schedule here is very different. The parents go to work in the morning and return at around 1 or 2 for lunch. The father returns to work at 3:30, after lunch and a rest and the mother stays home for the rest of the day with the baby. The father is not done with work until 8:30 or 9 and the parents do not eat dinner until 10 pm.

So far, I really enjoy the family and the home. The girls are sweet and the parents are very helpful. There is also a young woman who comes everyday to clean the house and she has also been kind to me.
